Melissa joined Brown Nelms in October 2017 as a member of the tax staff. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mercer University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in May 2015. She furthered her studies at Mercer University and completed the Masters of Accountancy program in July 2016. Melissa received her CPA license in 2017.
Before joining Brown Nelms she worked for Ernst & Young, LLP in their Diversified Staff Tax Group where she had the opportunity to have in-depth involvement in many tax subservice lines. This experience includes providing tax services to high-net worth individuals, preparing federal and state returns for corporate clients, as well as involvement in projects in the International Tax group.
Melissa is a member of numerous professional organizations including American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) as well as Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.
Melissa is a lifelong resident of Sharpsburg and in her free time, enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, running, and anything outdoors.
