Rich Hlozek, C.P.A.
Rich joined Brown Nelms in 2007. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of West Georgia in 1999.
Prior to joining the firm, Rich worked with regional certified public accounting firm where his responsibilities included attest services and tax return preparation. He has also worked in the accounting departments of Yamaha Golf Car Co. and Southwire, where he assisted in general ledger preparation, month end closing and inventory management.
As an Audit Manager at Brown Nelms, Rich has impacted the growth of the audit and attest department. His primary responsibilities include preparing audits, reviews and compilations of closely-held companies in the Construction and Manufacturing industries. Although Rich works primarily with Construction and Manufacturing companies, he has significant experience performing assurance work in a wide range of industries, including privately held companies in the distribution and services industries as well as governmental entities. As the audit team manager, Rich oversees our Employee Benefit Plan audit practices and helps ensure sponsors are in compliance with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). Additionally, Rich assists companies that have Employee Stock Option Plans (ESOPs) and ensures their compliance with federal and state taxes and the Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
Rich also has experience dealing with companies with foreign affiliates and the related knowledge of international accounting standards and accounting principles necessary for International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and U.S. GAAP reporting.
Rich is a member of numerous professional and civic organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA). In addition, he is a member of the Georgia Branch of The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC Georgia), Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), and The ESOP Association.
Rich, in his free time, enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and playing golf. Rich has been a resident of Peachtree City for over 30 years.
